Okanagan Lake

Site 56 - July 2015
OVERVIEW
Okanagan Lake Provincial Park is a very popular park located in the heart of wine country between Summerland and Peachland on Highway 97. This is the perfect long weekend getaway as most sites have convenient access to the lake and there are two small towns close by in case supplies need to be restocked. The park has two separate campgrounds, North and South, which are less than 1km apart. Both campgrounds have good amenities (showers, flush toilets, running water) and lake access but sites fill up fast, so reservations are highly recommended.
LOCATION
Ideally located on Okanagan Lake between two small towns providing easy access to replenish supplies.
CAMPSITES
The North Campground has larger grassy sites with some shade but the sites are located on three terraces on the hillside.
The South Campground has several lakeside sites that offer direct beach access but many sites lack privacy and shade
FACILITIES
The South Campground facilities were recently renovated and are always well maintained. There is only one shower facilities for 96 sites, so it does get busy but the showers are always clean.
ACTIVITIES
Perfect for lakeside fun in the sun! There is a large playground and an easy interpretive trail between the North and South campgrounds. The only downside is you cannot walk to town.
