PORTEAU COVE PROVINCIAL PARK

Site 16 - March 2019
OVERVIEW
Capilano River RV Park is a great place to park your RV while you explore Vancouver and the local mountains. The RV park is conveniently located minutes away from the Lions Gate Bridge and Park Royal Shopping Centre. Although the most of the sites are small and lack privacy, the cleanliness and on-site facilities make this park a nice weekend destination.
LOCATION
Less than a 40 minute drive from downtown Vancouver, and less than a 20 drive to Squamish makes this a very accessible park.
CAMPSITES
Waterfront site offer a great views and reasonable privacy. Interior sites are less desirable as there are only a few beach access points and little other activities. We probably wouldn't stay in this park if weren't about to secure a waterfront site. All sites include picnic tables, firepits, and power (15 and 30 AMP options).
FACILITIES
This park has great washroom and shower facilities which are cleaned regularly. The main amenities room includes laundry facilities, a games/TV room, hot tub, and outdoor pool. In addition, there are sani-dump, propane fill, and wash bay services on-site.
ACTIVITIES
Given the proximity to the Lions Gate Bridge and the Transcanada Highway, there a many activities close by.

THE GOOD

-

One of the few provincial parks with serviced sites (electricity only)

THE BAD
-
Every night a train runs across the back of the campground and blows its whistle as there is a crossing into the park. This wakes the tent campers and even most RVers!
-
Aside from the beach and ocean, there are only no other activities other than a stroll around the campground
