BC Parks Campsite Reservations

In December 2019, BC Parks upgraded their reservation system using the New York based company Recreation Dynamics.  At the time, the province said Recreation Dynamics had more than 20 years of experience providing reservation platforms for government park agencies, including California State Parks, Missouri State Parks and the New Zealand Department of Conservation. The site "DiscoverCamping.ca" was in use for just over 2 years.

In March 2022, BC Parks launched a new reservations system designed with input from campers, park operators and other service organizations.  The new reservation system utilizes the Camis platform which is used by Parks Canada and  hundreds of national, state, provincial, county, regional parks, conservation authorities, harbors and marinas in the United States and Canada.

BC Parks Campsite Cancellations

With the popularity of BC Parks campsite reservations, many people are unsuccessful when trying to book a site when it becomes available. Fortunately, plans change and people cancel!

Campsites cancelled more than 7 days before the arrival date are only subject to a $6 change fee and the loss of the non-refundable $18 reservation fee.  For up to date details on the key camping policies, please refer to the BC Parks website

When cancellations are made, the cancelled campsite will become available shortly after the cancellation.

Not having any luck getting a cancellation?  Maybe its time to hire some help:

Campnab

Campnab is a Vancouver BC based service that gained popularity back in 2018.  Campnab monitors campgrounds for canceled reservations (up to every 5 minutes) and notifies you via text or email when a campsite opens up. This saves you from having to continually search in hopes of stumbling upon a cancelation. Getting a notification within 5 minutes of it becoming available gives you an advantage of being able to snag it!

We have been using Campnab for a couple years and it has helped us get a bunch of campsites on sold out weekends. Highly recommended if you are looking to score cancellations at popular parks!
